New Delhi: Chandrayaan finds significant amount of water on moon: The Chandrayaan Mission is not yet over. Chandrayaan has discovered a significant quantity of water on the moon.

It was found in an area adjacent to the North Pole. The scientific instrument mini SAR weighs about 10 kgs. There are about 40 craters ranging from 2-15 kilometers in diameter.
NASA announced the news this week. The scientists at NASA are expecting to find about 600 million metric tons of water-ice in the craters.
NASA spokesman, Jason Crusan states that “After analyzing the data, our science team determined a strong indication of water ice, a finding which will give future missions a new target to further explore and exploit”.
